Slider Linear Position Sensors

Slider linear position sensors, also known as slider potentiometers or sliding position sensors, are devices used to measure the linear displacement or position of a sliding object along a straight path. These sensors are designed to provide accurate and reliable position measurements and are commonly used in various applications where linear motion needs to be monitored or controlled. Here's an overview of how slider.

Description

Working

Construction: The sensor consists of a resistive element that is usually shaped like a track or a slider. A wiper, which is connected to the moving object or slider being measured, moves along the length of the resistive track.

Resistance Variation: As the wiper slides along the resistive track, it changes the portion of the resistor that is in contact. This leads to a change in resistance proportional to the position of the slider.

Electrical Signal Generation: The change in resistance is used to generate an electrical signal. The signal can be analog, often in the form of a voltage or current, which corresponds to the linear position of the slider.

Feature:

Accuracy: Slider linear position sensors offer reasonable accuracy and resolution for many applications.

Simple Design: These sensors have a relatively simple design, making them easy to install and use.

Non-Contact Operation: In some designs, the wiper may slide along the track without physical contact, reducing wear and tear.

Durability

Slider sensors can withstand a certain amount of mechanical wear and environmental conditions.
